Job Summary

Our Business Office Clerk will be part of a team that supports the entire dealership with processing a variety of paperwork involved in auto sales, & service.  This will include accounting, sorting and filing various customer and vendor records, and the amounts related to those accounts.  The person will be assigned to one area although as needed will assist the other clerks as needed when workload demands arise. Must be flexible and work within various deadlines.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Highlight the responsibilities. 
  • Work with a computer to enter various data, and balances the various accounts assigned to you.
  • Follows up with staff, vendors, and/or customers as needed to gather or clarify information.
  • Maintains various files to keep up to date and organized. 
  • Outline the day-to-day activities of the position.
  • Pulls daily reports to determine status of accounts and what needs follow up.
  • Sorts various invoices, and an assortment of files, notes, and legal documents to determine if input into computer is needed to keep files up to date.
  • audits paperwork to check entries by responsible employees were accurate and if needed to be corrected
  • Assists other team members with their workload when appropriate.
  • Relieves receptionist when needed..
  • Specify how this position fits into your organization. 
  • Very key to the processing of all paperwork and accounts in the dealership.
  • Determines the timely payment and receipts of monies coming in and going out for the dealership.
  • Timely processing of legal documents needed for the customer when they buy or sell there vehicles, as well as payments to the employees for their part of the transactions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Add a list of hard and soft skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computers, & 10 key calculator.,
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of people to clarify information, or resolve conflicts that arise with accounts.
  • Flexible to handle various priorities and change as needed when situations or deadlines demand it.
  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience helpful
